Privacy is not limited to personal files. You may want to enjoy certain web sites or to chat with a friend, without someone barging into your room, unannounced. You can install a panic button on your web browser, if you want to hide all web pages instantly, but if you want to hide all your windows at once, you can try Hide Wizard. After a few simple configurations, you will be able to make your desktop look like you just started your computer and the best part is that you can do it instantly, with a single click or a hotkey.

The application works on Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7. You can install it fast, without making any complex settings. The setup file is less than one MB, so you can download it in a few seconds, even with a slower Internet connection.

A list of running programs is displayed on the application's user interface. You may right click a program and select an option to add it to a Quick Hide list. If one or more applications are added to this list, you can hide their windows right away, with a keyboard shortcut of your choice. It is also possible to set up mouse shortcuts, like pressing the middle button or holding down the right and left buttons at the same time.

Additionally, you can add autorun applications to an Auto Hide list. If Hide Wizard is set to launch automatically during the system's startup, your autorun applications will be hidden automatically. The general settings panel contains a series of interesting and useful options. Besides adding running programs to the Quick Hide list, you can set the application to hide windows if their titles contain certain text fragments. If someone walks in on you, it may be suspicious if they find you with a clean desktop. If a certain application is running, you can set Hide Wizard to bring its window on top, when you hide everything. Muting the sound is another possibility.

Besides windows, the application is also capable of hiding processes, folders and files with certain extensions. You can find many other features, which are perfect for various situations. A virtual desktop function will make it look like you just started the computer. Another keyboard shortcut can be used to terminate certain programs if they are hidden. It is also possible to prevent the creation of new windows if their class names match certain keywords.

Pros

Besides hiding windows and processes, the application can help you keep them hidden and make it look like they were never opened. You can also prevent windows from showing up, terminate hidden programs, mute the sound and more.

Cons

You can't hide processes if you are using a 64-bit operating system. Thanks to Hide Wizard's smart functionality, it takes a simple click or keystroke to hide everything on your desktop.
